Caring for Dairy Cows
Producing high-quality milk starts with caring for cows—day in, day out. Dairy farmers are devoted to meeting the needs of their cows through balanced nutrition, attentive care, and a nurturing environment.
Each farm within the IDI network is evaluated by the Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program. The FARM program is based on industry accepted best management practices that farmers must follow for every cow and calf on the farm. Each farm undergoes assessments of cow care and health, and maintains regular contact with veterinarians as part of the program.​

Ensuring the health of our water and soil is vital for the future of dairy farming and the ecosystems we cherish. The farmers who supply IDI are committed to protecting and enhancing the land through practices including crop diversity, water-saving vegetative buffers, and carbon footprint reduction.
FARM program environmental stewardship assessments empower farmers to better control greenhouse gas emissions, track and optimize energy usage, and utilize customized resources to make impactful environmental improvements.
